The Römer (German for "Roman") in Frankfurt am Main is a medieval building located in the Römerberg plaza and one of the city's most important landmarks. It is a complex of three formerly separate buildings and got it's name from the house in the middle which is called "Haus Römer". It has been the city hall (German: Rathaus) for more than 600 years after the Römer merchant family sold it to the city council in 1405.

The Römer includes the Römerhalle, the Schwanenhalle and perhaps the best-known room of the Römer, the Emperor Hall (Kaisersaal), which was once the scene of splendid banquets. Today it is a major tourist attraction for people from all over the world.
